Job description

As Group Controller, you will play a central role in our global finance organization, acting as a key link between Group Finance and the business. You will be responsible for supporting the consolidation and reporting process of the group, working closely with local finance teams across our organization. You are proactive, accurate and capable of navigating a complex stakeholder field in an international environment. You will report directly to the Manager Group Reporting & Consolidation and play a key role in ensuring high-quality group reporting.

Your responsibilities

  • Assisting in preparing reports to group stakeholders on various topics such as financial performance, quality and timeliness of reporting, intercompany, and compliance with group requirements.

  • Coordinate quarterly intercompany reconciliations and the annual consolidation of the group.

  • Challenge our regions and companies on the quality of their reporting, ensuring alignment with our group standards.

  • Maintain strong communication lines with regional finance representatives, while also being able to support individual controllers or finance staff on technical reporting issues.

  • Work flexibly across different levels of the organization, adapting your communication style depending on the audience.

  • Provide guidance and support in applying group accounting policies.

  • Contribute to the further implementation and optimization of our consolidation and reporting software Tagetik (experience with Tagetik is a strong advantage).

  • Support in the group audit process, acting as a key contact for external auditors.

  • From time to time, participate in internal audits on site (travel) to support compliance and improvements.

  • Identify and implement improvements to standardize, optimize and automate group financial processes.

Job requirements

• A completed relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree (Accounting, Business Economics, Controlling or similar).

• 3–5 years of relevant experience as a controller within an international group environment, or audit/accountancy background (Big4 or similar).

• Experience with year-end closing process.

• Preferably hands-on experience with consolidation software (Tagetik strongly preferred, other comparable software is also valuable).

• Strong analytical skills and eye for detail, but also keeping the bigger picture in mind.

• Strong communication skills.

• Independent, accurate, and a strong sense of ownership.

• Team player with a flexible, no-nonsense attitude, who thrives in a dynamic environment.

• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written; other languages are a plus.

• Excellent knowledge of Excel and strong affinity with financial software.
